LANGUAGE tapes used to be mailed to your home when one intends to acquire a second language. A typical language program lasts up to six months and language tapes are mailed one at a time like say on a weekly pace. The first language tape contains basic words on a particular language that you’re trying to acquire like Spanish for instance. There are also corresponding explanations of the lesson both in Spanish and your first language which is English of course. At the end of each one-hour tape, there are questions which you have to answer via mail. You will receive the subsequent tape only after you have mailed your answers to the preceding audio quiz. This is ideal for someone who is curious to study a certain language on his or her own. But for people who are forced to study a certain language because his employer needs him or her to acquire that, then one is forced to enroll in an online language school. In this instance, language tapes are not mailed to your home but are only available in a secure website. It means only you can access the language tapes because you are given a login once you have enrolled in a language school. The similarities in delivering traditional language tapes can still be seen though. Language tapes are either streamed or downloaded to your computer one at a time. It means you can’t progress to another language tape if you have not taken the online quiz for the preceding one yet. After you have accomplished the quiz, whether you passed it or not, the computer will prompt you to proceed to the next language tape.

When you listen to the language tapes, listen to them with dedication. It means you must not be disturbed by your daughter or by an Xbox 360 game. You must allocate yourself at least two hours everyday dedicated solely to studying those tapes alone. Remember that this is your only shot at learning the language program. It’s not oftentimes that there’s a Japanese language school in your area of Maine for example. So enrolling in an online language course can only be the solution.
